The only way to control your weight is to monitor your calorie intake and the amount of energy/calories you burn from activity.
Your age, height, weight and activity levels all determine how many calories you should consume during each day.
If you want to lose weight, then all you have to do is one of three things.
- Eat the same amount of food but increase your activity levels.
- Keep your activity level the same but decrease your calorie intake.
- Do both. Increase activity and decrease calorie intake for maximum weight loss effectiveness.
Cutting calories can be easy enough if you take it gradually. Use the Calorie Calculator from Health Line to determine how many calories you need to either maintain weight or lose weight.
At first try just reducing your calories by 200 calories per day and see how you feel. If you can manage, reduce your calories closer to the recommended amount for you to lose weight according to the Calorie Calculator.
Remember to keep checking the Calorie Calculator as you lose weight as your calorie intake will change according to your new stats and if you increase your activity levels.
